There are three 18-hole courses and one 9-hole course in the immediate Lake Whitney area, and many others within a short driving distance. Two of the local courses have great views of the lake.
Rated four stars by Golf Digest, the White Bluff championship courses have been ranked in the Top 10 best resort courses in Texas. Designed by 13-time PGA tour winner Bruce Lietzke, both courses wind through the trees and feature changes in elevation, water hazards and sand bunkers. These Texas resort courses challenge golfers of all skill levels.
The New Course at White Bluff features lush fairways that gracefully wind through the trees and greens highlighted by numerous water hazards and numerous sand bunkers. The Old Course is a pleasure to play from tee to green with the newly converted Mini Verde Bermuda greens. The front nine is a traditional parkland layout which prepares you for dramatic views of Lake Whitney and elevation changes throughout the back nine.
The 18-hole course at Lake Whitney Golf Club features narrow, tree-lined fairways through hilly country terrain. Glimpses of the lake can be seen from the fairways.
Bosque Valley Golf Club is located in Meridian, alongside the Bosque River. This 9-hole course features water hazards on several holes, and mature overhanging oak trees along the course.
