Hubbard
1st weekend in December

Magnolias & Mistletoe

The town of Hubbard opens its doors to celebrate the Christmas season.

Saturday kicks off early with a VFD breakfast.  Downtown businesses and outdoor vendors open for the day with all kinds of Christmas decorations, gifts, and more.  Browse through town and select your favorite in the downtown window decorating contest.

Magnolias & Mistletoe parade

The late-morning Christmas Parade is always a crowd pleaser, with floats, horses, wagons, classic cars, and tractors.  This is followed by the Christmas tree lighting.  Of course, Santa makes time in his busy schedule to be in Hubbard for this big event.

The Hubbard City Civic Center in downtown Hubbard is the site for indoor vendors and is decorated for the season. Many events go on throughout the day on the stage at the Civic Center, including children's Christmas programs and musical entertainment. Bake sales are held, and local organizations offer homemade lunches of chili, soup, and more.

The Historic Hubbard High School is open all day.  Visitors can roam through the Hubbard History Museum, the Tris Speaker Sports Museum, and the Antique Doll Exhibit.  The doors remain open in the evening for a Christmas musical program.

In some years, the local Garden Club sponsors a Homes Tour on Sunday afternoon.  Hubbard has been called the “Victorian Crossroads of Central Texas” because of its abundance of historic Victorian residences, many of which are designated with official Texas Historical Commission markers.

A weekend in Hubbard is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!
