There are around 657 species of birds in Texas, and you can see a variety of them in Hill County. Check out the Lake Whitney area and Lake Aquilla area. We have lots of songbirds, shorebirds, and several bald eagles, osprey, owls and hawks. The endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler nests exclusively in Texas. We have an abundance of Painted Buntings and Eastern Bluebirds. White-tailed Deer roam freely, and Gray Foxes too.
